Supersport United are 7 points clear of Ajax Cape town who lie second on the log. They put two goals past Kaizer Chiefs last night at Loftus.
Glen Salmon scored the first goal of the game from a Daine Klate corner kick, this goal was then disallowed by referee Faiek Daniels.
Glen Salmon then scored the first “legitimate” goal of the evening for Matsatsantsa with 20 minutes left to half time.
Kaizer Chiefs also had a lot of attacking chances but Nkosinathi Nhleko’s brilliant effort was stopped by former Amakhosi goalkeeper Emille Baron, who was outstanding on the night. Baron stood between Chiefs and any hopes of scoring a goal on the night.
An injury to another Kaizer Chiefs former player, Siyabonga Nkosi, saw the introduction of Jabu Maluleke by United into the game. This move later proved beneficial as he scored the second goal for United.
Ten minutes into the second half, the lights at Loftus stadium went off. This added to the many lights problems by various stadia in SA, especially in Gauteng. During the MTN 8 final there was a lights problem at Orlando Stadium and at Bidvest Wits during a league encounter, where a game was postponed to the next day.
Pretoria dished out beautiful football as both Pretoria giants out classed and defeated their Soweto rivals.
Mamelodi Sundowns also put two goals through Pirates’ Moneeb Josephs. The goals came from defender Luvhengo Mungomeni and former Bucs star Tso Vilakazi. The Brazilians are now 4th on the log.
In his post match press conference,United coach Gavin Hunt said he could win this league by the end of December, he just need to manage his players injuries and suspensions.
Does it look like Matsatsantsa will take the league third time in a row, or is it still too early to crown them champions?

i think if supersport maintain their form it can be wrapped up by xmas. having lived in both cities, i say Pretoria rocks, it would really take somthing speaical for either CPT or JHB to dismantle the city of champions. with everything else going on in football, from Ace to incompitent referees, im looking forward to the WC draw.
